I think adults who really focus on the importance of these topics find that the books shouldn’t be read by children because these adults don’t see anything appealing in the story all they see is the subjects that they don’t want their kids talking about or learning about (which is a shame because all kids should learn about things like this and be free to make informed choices on their own).
WHAT HAPPENED TO GOLDEN COMPASS 2 MOVIE
What happened was that The Golden Compass was turned into a movie and the second and third books were to follow suit, but the Church put a stop to their production because of the fact that angels are involved in the war that takes place at the end, and there are many heretical ideas about the creation of the world and about God Himself. The Golden Compass already has so many reactions to it around the world, but that’s more just based on how adults and institutions have reacted to the story because of their fear that it touches on subjects that are too “taboo” to discuss among children things like religions, the scandals of the Church, sexuality, etc. My English teacher last semester even made a point to tell us that everyone remembers different things about a story because what sticks in a reader’s head is what’s important to them specifically. With any novel there are many reactions to it because readers always find different things to like about a story.
